TCS and Infosys lift the BSE IT index


TCS and Infosys are pulling up the BSE Information Technology index.
BSE IT index is up by more than 1.3%. Infosys and TCS put together are contributing more than 100 points to the index.
MIC Electronics Limited is the top gainer in the index trading at Rs 15 per share, up by Rs 0.78 per share or 5.49%.
Infosys is up by almost 1.3% even as TCS records gains of more than 2%.
FMCG Heavyweight, ITC Limited, is trading in green at Rs 264.7 per share, up b Rs 1.25 per share or 0.47%.
At 11:00 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28947.91 up 83.20 points, while NSE Nifty
is trading at 8955.15 up 28.25 points. A total of 29 stocks registered a
fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new
52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.36% at 13555.82, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.33% at 13618.48.
Some buying activity is seen in Finance, Information Technology,
Telecom and Banking while Utilities, and Auto are showing weakness on
BSE.
Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, TCS, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra
are among the gainers, whereas Grasim, Eicher Motor, Axis Bank, NTPC and
Bosch Limited are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
The INDIA VIX is down 1.05% at 13.55.
